Great Non-Fiction to Start 2020

Hey y’all!

If you’re like me, some of your reoccuring New Year’s resolutions is to read more, and learn more. So, I figure now is a better time than any to feature a few of my favorite non-fiction picks to do just that!

Quirk Books never fails with some of the most fascinating books out there. Monster, She Wrote is right up there, featuring some of the most interesting (and impactful) women in the history of literature, whose captivating backstories you may not know (but the characters they created I’m sure you do!).
Diana Wynne Jones is a master of writing fantasy, and this book is her guide for you to doing the same thing. The Tough Guide to Fantasyland is not only a clever satire about the genre, but it is also one of the most comprehensive guides to writing in the style.
I’m typically not interested in non-fiction narratives, but this book was one of the most captivating, heartbreaking, and enlightening things I have ever read. I cannot recommend it enough.
I have been a fan of Charlie McDonnell since the beginning of his YouTube days, and this book is a wonderful example of his charm and ability to engage an audience. The narrative is witty and interesting and will get even the most resistant of science students to think about the subjects in a new way. FULL REVIEW HERE.

I hope y’all are having a wonderful start to 2020, and I have many new reviews to come!
